ANY REQUESTS?

Paul Randall, our wonderful pianist, is on standby

If he looks familiar, it’s intentional. Paul Randall was the resident pianist at Le Caprice for many years until it closed during the pandemic.

After a period of working at The Beaumont, he has been bringing his music to Arlington since its reawakening in 2023.

“I love the American songbook and the swing jazz standards,” he explains, citing Michel Legrand as his favourite composer. At home, he favours singer/songwriters such as Neil Sedaka, Barry Manilow, Stevie Wonder, and Prince, but that is only the beginning of his repertoire. “I love taking requests,” he says. “It’s a challenge, but I have thousands of songs in my head, which I delve into when needed.”

So don’t be shy; you can find him at Arlington from 6 to 11 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Come to think of it, after watching Billy Joel: And So It Goes on HBO Max, we might have a few new suggestions ourselves.
